What to Expect:
- Duration: 1-2 hours to summit, 4 hours total round trip (up and down). Up to 10 hours, including after hiking and hotel transfer
- Difficulty:Â Moderate, considered beginner-friendly but can be strenuous due to steep, uneven, rocky, and sandy terrain, especially on descent.
- Scenery:Â Panoramic views of Lake Batur, Mount Agung, Mount Abang, and Bali’s east coast at sunrise.
- Experience:Â Trekking in the dark with headlamps, reaching the summit for sunrise, enjoying volcanic-steamed breakfast (often bananas/eggs), and seeing monkeys.Â
Tips for Hiking:
- Wear sturdy trekking shoes for grip on loose surfaces.
- Dress in layers as it can be cool at the top.
- Stay hydrated and bring snacks.
